This is a jhatpat & my son's most favourite bhujiya... He asks me after every 2 or 3 days to cook it for him.. so here's the recipe...
Ingredients and spices that need to be Take to make Aloo ki bhujiya (Halwa puri wali):
- 5 to 6 Potatoes medium to large (cut in small cubes)
- 2-3 tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp Rai
- 1 tsp Kalonji
- half tsp Methi dana
- 1 tsp Zeera
- half tsp Ajwain
- 6-7 Karri patta
- 1 tbsp Kuti laal mirch
- 1 and half tsp Haldi
- Water as required
- 3 Green chillies
- to taste Salt
- Imli pulp as required
- 1 tbsp Gajar achar (optional)
- Hara dhaniya for garnishing
Instructions to make Aloo ki bhujiya (Halwa puri wali)
- In a pot, heat oil and put rai, kalonji, zeera, ajwain, methi dana & karri patta.. saute for 2 secs... don't let it burn..
- Now add kuti laal mirch and haldi and fry for a sec. & add diced potatoes in it and mix.
- Now add water (approximately 1 and half to 2 cups so that potatoes will be covered and cooked in the same water) & salt..cook it on high flame until it starts boiling than cook it on medium low flame for 15 to 20 mins.
- When potatoes will be soft.. mash half of the potatoes in same pot. & add imli pulp & green chillies now.. water should not dry... it should be watery at this stage.. when you'll mash the potatoes and let it cook for another 5 mins the gravy will become thick automatically...
- Now add gajar ka achar in it and mix well and cook for another 2 to 3 mins and turn off the flame..
- Garnish it with hara dhaniya & enjoy with poori, paratha or kachoriyan...
