  4. 1 tsp salt
  5. 1/4 tsp ajwain/carom seeds

  9. 1 cup semolina/suji
  10. 1 cup sugar

  1. Suji ka halwa: dry roast suji till it turns golden... keep aside. Heat ghee in a pan, add clove and cardamom... then add sugar and water and boil till the sugar dissolves...add a pinch of salt and saffron colour to it and mix
  2. Add the roasted suji and mix till the halwa thickens. Turn off flame and cover
  3. Kachori: in a bowl add flour, salt, ajwain, kalonji, dalda and mix well till u can bind it in your palm... add more dalda if required. Then add water and make a hard dough... rest for 15 mins
  4. Then make big balls and roll out a thick roti... then cut out small circles using a glass or cookie cutter.
  5. Make cut marks using a knife so as to ensure that the kachoris do not puff while frying.
  6. Heat oil in a kadhai and then lower the flame... add the kachoris to the hot oil in batches and deep fry on low flame to make the kachoris crispy..
  7. Serve hot with suji ka halwa.
