Add 6 cups of normal water to that thick wheat milk. (For 1 cup thick milk we have to add 3 cups of normal water) - I am using uruli (heavy bottomed vessel used to prepare sweets etc). Add 3 cups of normal water. Then add
5 & 1/2 cups of sugar. Stir it well till the sugar gets dissolve. - Add that remaining 1/2 cup of sugar to another sauce pan caramelise it by adding 2tbsp of water. Stir it continuously to get brown colour. We are doing this process to get halwa's exact colour. We aren't going to add food colour. Keep it aside.
- Now add thick wheat milk mixture and stir it continuously. To that add caramelised sugar syrup.
- After 5 min wheat milk colour changes.
- After 15 min of continous stirring it becomes little bit thick. Now its time to add ghee. Divide 3 cups of ghee to equal halves and add that then and there.
- It will be easy to stir immediately after adding ghee after some time it will become hard to stir that is the time interval to add ghee.
- We should repeat the process for 30 min.
- Add cardamom powder and fried cashews.
