- 500 gms... Mash flour
- 500 gms sugar
- 500 gms....Ghee
- 125 gms edible gum (goond)
- 50 gms...almonds
- 50 gms....pistachios
- 50 gms.... Cashews
- 50 gms.....coconut flakes
- 50 gms....walnuts
Instructions to make MASH FLOUR HALWA (MAISOO)
- 1. Grind sugar in grinder till powder form or you can use store bought powdered sugar. Roughly chop almonds, pistachios, cashews and walnuts. Keep aside
- 2. Take a broad pan, add half of the ghee in it. When heat up add edible gum in it. Add in two batches. Roast till double in size and golden brown in colour. Take them out and roughly crush with the back of the spoon. Keep aside.
- 3. In same pan add remaining ghee when melt add mash flour into it.
- 4. Now stir continuously on low to medium heat. Don't leave it unattended.
- 5. Slowly and gradually it will change colour white to light brown as shown in the picture.
- 6. Now it's time to remove from the heat. Turn off the flame and firstly add sugar in it and mix well.
- 7. Add fried edible gum. Save some for top garnish. Mix well.
- 8. Now add coconut, almonds, pistachios, cashews and walnut in it and mix very so everything gets well cooperated.
- 9. Pour this mixture on greased tray. Garnish with remaining dry friuts and fried goond.
- 10. Let it cool for 6 to 8 hours then slightly warm the knife and cut in your desired pieces. You can keep them in an airtight jar up to a month.
