- 2 tbsp rava/Semolina
- 1/2 cup Milk powder
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 2 tbs sugar
- 1/4 cup condensed milk
- 1 tsp elaichi powder/cardomom powder
- pinch saffron
Steps to make Carrot Halwa or Gajar Halwa
- In a pan add 3tbsp ghee and grated carrots and cook on medium high flame.
- Add condensed milk. And cook for a 5-10 min.
- Add milk and let it cook. Until it reduces to half.
- When reduced half and all liquid is gone add 1tsp elaichi powder, and chopped dry nuts
- Mix everything.And flattened it on baking tray or any plate you have. But before flattening line it with butter paper or cleanwrap.Or it ll happen like me.I have to take out the Halwa and thn lined the tray with clean wrap and again flattened it
- Rest the Carrot Halwa in fridge. For at least 2hrs. N we ll move on to prepare sandesh.
- Ingredients for sandesh. Panner 1 cup, 1/4 cup condensed milk, 2tsp rava,and chopped dry nuts for garnish, and 1/2 cup milk powder
- In a plate take your Panner and add rava and mix it well
- Add milk powder and mix well. And form a soft dough ball
- Add 1 tbsp ghee and Panner ball and mix on low medium flame
- Add condensed milk and mix.
- Cook for roughly around 10 min
- Thn add elaichi powder/cardomom powder, few kesser strands(optional),and sugar and incorporate everything on medium flame.
- Cook until it starts getting separate from the pan.
- Than layer it on the cooled Gajar halwa/carrot halwa... Spread evenly and gently in top. And sprinkle the fine topped nuts(optional)
- Then slowly pick the ends of the cleanwrap or foil or parchment paper whatever you have used to line the baking tray. And slowly slowly make roll. Don't press too hard just slowly try making the roll.
- When done place the tray in fridge again for 2 -4 hours
- Take it out from fridge and remove the cleanwrap and cut it into pieces and serve
- Panner you can making at home.Take a pan and add 5 cups of milk and bring it to boil. Once it starts to boil switch off the gas stove and add lemon juice or vinegar. Let the milk to curdle. Then strain it out on cheesecloth and wash 2 time with water. So all the taste of lemon or vinegar goes away.
