The dish is a very common one, widely prepared at home by people all over the country, especially in Northern India. Nearly every sweet shop has a version of it for sale. While I did contemplate cheating and buying some from a sweet shop nearby, I finally pushed myself to take up the challenge.
It was a bit intimidating since I had never prepared it before, but what came out ready at the end was something that I was pretty proud of. The lunch next day, was a success and still a bit surprisingly, my dessert was voted as the best dish that day.
